The Easter spirit: Local church and law group give away 550 meals to families

More than $50,000 in meals were distributed to Atlanta families during an Easter giveaway supported by 1-800-TruckWreck and KISS 104.1 FM. The event, held in Decatur, provided free hams and gift cards to hundreds of households, helping offset rising grocery costs during the holiday season.

Families began lining up early in the morning to receive assistance, highlighting the growing challenges many are facing as food prices and everyday expenses continue to increase. In addition to meal distributions, a limited number of gift cards were provided to help further ease the financial burden for families preparing holiday meals.

This marks the second consecutive year 1-800-TruckWreck has supported Easter meal initiatives in the Atlanta area, reinforcing an ongoing commitment to giving back to the community. Partnerships with organizations like KISS 104.1 FM help expand the reach of these efforts, ensuring more families have access to essential resources during important times of the year.

Community initiatives like this play an important role in addressing food insecurity, which continues to impact households across the region. By working together, local organizations are able to provide immediate relief while also strengthening support networks within the community.

As economic pressures persist, events like the Easter giveaway help ensure families can gather and celebrate the holiday with a meal, while also highlighting the importance of continued community support.
