1-800-TruckWreck joined KISS 104.1 and community partners for the third annual Shoesday Giveaway, helping Atlanta-area students prepare for the new school year with new shoes and added confidence.
During the back-to-school event at Sole Play, 200 families received $150 gift cards to purchase shoes. Families began lining up before dawn, and attendees also received complimentary meals provided by 1-800-TruckWreck.
The annual event recognizes that preparing for school involves more than purchasing traditional classroom supplies. Shoes can be one of the most expensive items on a family’s back-to-school list, and having a new pair can help students begin the year feeling prepared.
Amy Witherite, owner of 1-800-TruckWreck and founder of Witherite Law Group, explained why the organization continues to support the Shoesday Giveaway.
“We started this event with an understanding that the need for school supplies goes well beyond pencils, pens and paper. One of the most important things we can equip students with is a boost in confidence, and a decent pair of shoes can do wonders for a child’s self-esteem,” said Amy Witherite, owner of 1-800-TruckWreck and founder of Witherite Law Group. “Together with our partners, we’re working to offset the cost of what could be one of the most expensive items on the supply list, while helping students start the school year on the right foot.”
Through efforts like the Shoesday Giveaway, 1-800-TruckWreck continues working with local partners to support Atlanta families and help students start the school year prepared.
