Attorney Amy Witherite, with iHeart Chicago, sponsors the "Brilliantly Black Business Award".

1-800-TruckWreck, led by Amy Witherite, partnered with iHeartMedia Chicago and the Chicago Urban League to support the 2024 Brilliantly Black Business Awards, an initiative created to recognize and uplift Black-owned businesses across Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.

The awards, presented by 1-800-TruckWreck, celebrated 10 local businesses selected by community nominations and votes. Each winner will receive $100,000 in in-kind media exposure across iHeartMedia Chicago radio stations, along with access to a small business development cohort through the Chicago Urban League.

Originally launched by iHeartMedia Chicago in 2020, the Brilliantly Black initiative was designed as a community resource to spotlight Black-owned businesses, restaurants, and nonprofits. Since its launch, the program has featured nearly 1,500 businesses through digital promotions, on-air features, and podcast content.

Amy Witherite emphasized that supporting local communities is a core value of 1-800-TruckWreck. By partnering with iHeartMedia Chicago and the Chicago Urban League, the organization helped shine a spotlight on minority business owners who are making a meaningful impact in their communities.

The 2024 winners represent a wide range of industries, including wellness, fashion, retail, professional services, food, and family-focused businesses. Their recognition highlights the important role Black entrepreneurs play in strengthening Chicago’s cultural and economic landscape.

This partnership reflects 1-800-TruckWreck’s continued commitment to community engagement, business empowerment, and supporting initiatives that create lasting opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
