1-800-TruckWreck, New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, and V-103 joined forces to provide meals to over 2,000 Atlanta-area families during one of metro Atlanta’s largest Thanksgiving food giveaways. Held on Nov. 21 at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, the event distributed $70,000 worth of turkeys through a drive-through system, ensuring families in need could enjoy a fulfilling holiday meal.
Now in its fourth consecutive year, this annual turkey giveaway has become a meaningful tradition for the Atlanta community, bringing together local organizations, volunteers, and residents to support families during the holiday season. The drive-through format allowed for an efficient and accessible distribution process, with thousands of families receiving meals on a first-come, first-served basis.
Community need continues to grow, with food insecurity impacting many households across Georgia. Events like this help address immediate needs while also fostering a sense of support and connection throughout the community. By working together, organizations like 1-800-TruckWreck, New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, and V-103 are able to make a lasting impact during critical times of the year.
“With the food insecurity rate steadily rising in Georgia, there’s no better way to respond than to provide access to healthy meals,” said Amy Witherite, founder of Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck. “We hope that these meals will provide each family with a well-deserved, fulfilling holiday.”
This initiative reflects an ongoing commitment to giving back and supporting communities in need, especially during the holiday season when many families face added financial pressure.
