Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck awarded $127,500 in scholarships to 51 graduating seniors from Fort Worth’s Dunbar High School during the annual “Making a Difference” Scholarship event. Every Dunbar student who applied received a scholarship, marking a continued legacy of investment in education, opportunity, and community impact.
Now in its 11th year, the scholarship program has helped students pursue higher education and career paths in fields ranging from nursing and engineering to aviation and health care. Each recipient received a $2,500 scholarship that is renewable annually for students who maintain academic requirements, helping reduce financial barriers as they take the next step after graduation.
The partnership with Dunbar High School began in 2014 and has grown into a meaningful part of the school community. In addition to scholarships, Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck have supported student-focused initiatives including Senior Decision Day, mentoring programs, teacher appreciation efforts, athletic events, and other activities that encourage student success.
During the ceremony, Amy Witherite was also recognized by the Fort Worth Police Department with the Unsung Hero Award for her dedication to education and community service. The recognition reflects her ongoing commitment to supporting students and families beyond the courtroom.
